Thomas “Torrey” Hawkins

Founder & President

Torrey Hawkins has over 15 years of experience in many different aspects of commercial construction and development. He has constructed over 3 million sq ft of institutional quality tilt wall/commercial facilities and over $15 million of corporate interior/tenant finish-out projects. He strives to make sure that all clients are 100% satisfied with the projects Angler delivers. His easy going nature is well liked by clients and tenants, and has generated significant amounts of repeat and referral business for the company.  Torrey is the recipient of HBJ's 40 under 40 award for 2014 and currently serves on NAIOP's Houston Chapter board of directors.  He is a graduate from the University of Alabama and in his spare time is an avid fly-fisher and bird hunter.

Ken Grieco, LEED AP

Chief Officer of Operations

Ken Grieco brings to Angler over 34 years of construction experience ranging from retail, restaurants, hospitality, K-12, and higher education projects.  As our COO, Ken leads all of our construction divisions: designing, implementing, and overseeing operations. He is a Longhorn with a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also LEED AP certified, continuously working to improve sustainable strategies for our clients. Ken is a native Houstonian and enjoys golf, fishing and sporting clays.

Dottie Kolb


With over a decade of accounting management experience, Dottie Kolb is an effective, seasoned, goal oriented problem solver.  She loves a challenge, auditing, and deadlines.  An avid learner and almost always registered for class or two, she continues her education in both accounting and criminal justice.   Married for 25 years and mother of two grown children; she enjoys traveling, volunteering, and making someone smile everyday.

Norman Peters

Director of Industrial Ground Up Construction

Norman Peters is in charge of the New Construction/ Ground Up division for Angler Construction, involving all aspects of each of these projects, from pre-design to bidding through construction into project completion. His involvement allows there to be a single point of contact for our clients. He has over 30 years experience in the construction industry including retail, office, industrial, education, religion, self-storage and medical.  Over this period, Norman has constructed over $100 million worth of retail centers, churches, office buildings, warehouses and specialty facilities. He strives to deliver the highest quality customer service in every construction project. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling with his wife.

Toby Landry

Director of Bank Construction

Toby has over 25 years experience in both residential and commercial construction. During that time he has constructed numerous banks, convenience stores, truck stops, office buildings, self-storage, industrial and medical facilities throughout Texas and Louisiana.  He is a key player in planning, budgeting, bidding and bringing projects to completion. His focus to deliver client satisfaction paired with quality construction is shown to national chain clients as well as individual owners. Toby attended Nicholls State University and enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and camping.

David Thomas

Senior Project Manager- Interiors

David Thomas has over 10 years experience in large and small scale commercial, industrial, retail and residential construction projects and has managed over $130,000,000 in construction projects. A MBA recipient from Crummer Business School at Rollins College and a PMP, David is leading our Interiors division with an enthusiasm for developing people through the successful completion of projects. A Houston native, he is passionate about endurance racing and holds accolades in sailing. 

Mark Honan

Senior Project Manager- Ground Up

Mark is a seasoned project manager that comes to Angler with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry working in residential, renovations, and commercial ground up projects. He contributes his success in getting his jobs done on time and on budget to strong communication and organization.  A graduate of the University of Nebraska and coming to Texas from South Dakota, he enjoys spending most of his time with his family. 

Fred Rose

Project Manager- Interiors

With over 25 years of experience in construction project management, Fred brings a wealth of knowledge and know how to our Interiors division.  A dedicated and genuine manager, Fred loves the projects that he can sink his teeth into; Projects with a lot of specialties and artistic touches. His persistence (something he learned from his wife of 38 years) to get the best bang for the buck for his clients really pays off. When he’s not impressing at work he enjoys bicycling, throwing knives & hatchets, and doing woodshop projects with his granddaughters.

David Mackie

Project Manager- Ground Up

David Mackie has been in the commercial construction industry for 9 years. During this time he has completed $8.5 million dollars in commercial interior renovations and multiple small ground up projects. He manages all aspects of these projects focusing on cost control serving with the best communication possible. David is a graduate of Texas A&M University and in his time away from work he enjoys fishing, hunting and running.

Devin Valenta, LEED AP BD+C, Assoc. DBIA

Project Manager- Ground Up

A graduate of OSU in Construction Management Technology, Devin is a sharp and motivated PM.  With 6 years of experience and $80 million in new construction and renovations under his belt, he exemplifies quality work and service for Angler clients.  Growing up here in Houston, he is an avid fisherman, Astros addict, and OSU fan.

Chris Ellermann, LEED GA

Project Manager- Ground Up

After 8 years in the industry, Chris is a professional dedicated to the gold standard Angler sets for its clients.  His background in architecture brings a greatly valued advantage to the Ground Up team. He holds many degrees including Master's of Architecture from UH, Post-Graduate/ Master's studies in Interior Design and BA in Business Administration/Art from HBU. He enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing, just took up bow hunting, and is a self-proclaimed master of horseshoes. 

Kelsey Frankum

Staff Accountant

Kelsey, who holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Houston- downtown,  is responsible for both overhead and materials invoicing as well as accounts payable.  She is excited to bring her eagerness to learn, and dependable work ethic to the team.  Also a native Houstonian, she enjoys scuba diving, fishing/hunting, and spending time with her family.


Chelsey Perkins

Marketing Coordinator

You will likely see Chelsey’s work anytime you see us.  She delivers Angler's marketing effort including brand management, customer management, social media, supporting sales and event planning.  Along with an administrative and marketing background of more than 10 years in both oil & gas and construction industries, she brings a fresh and enthusiastic energy to the company. Chelsey is a graduate of the University of North Texas and enjoys spending time with her two girls, dancing, and traveling.

Amanda Chappell

Executive Assistant

Capitalizing on more than 15 years of executive assistant experience, 10 years of which spent in the construction industry, Amanda is Angler's very own office ninja.  At Torrey's right hand, she masters office management, calendaring, travel planning, on & off boarding, company reporting, and so much more.  She enjoys time with family and friends, baseball, and fly-fishing. 

Jarid Malone

Assistant Project Manager- Ground Up

Jarid comes to us with an eagerness to learn, a strong work ethic, and will be assisting in every aspect of the New Construction/Ground Up division for Angler Construction. As a past business owner, he is all about the customer experience, and it has served him well over the last decade traveling and building relationships with many in our industry and community. A graduate of Texas State University with a BBA in Management, he enjoys spending his spare time with his family, is an avid fly fisher and hunter, and is a die-hard Astros fan.


Kyle Henderson

Assistant Project Manager- Interiors

New to the construction industry, Kyle is proving a quick study and coordinates all aspects of his interior projects. Utilizing his strengths, he focuses on ensuring quality work and estimating- compiling well planned and accurate bids for the Interiors division.  A graduate of Texas A&M University, he studied Industrial Distribution and Business. Born and raised in Baytown, Kyle enjoys getting away in his spare time both bird hunting and saltwater fishing.

Rose O'Malia

Project Coordinator- Bank and Hospitality Retail

Rose has over 20 years commercial construction experience and has completed over 600 million dollars in projects. Some of her most esteemed “start to finish” projects include the Bellagio, Beau Rivage in Biloxi, and MGM Residences Towers 1, 2 and 3.   She is the first point of contact for submittal and subcontractor documents, as well as managing owner agreement documentation. Rose is well versed with plans and specifications and assists in estimating and bidding our bank and hospitality retail division projects. She is a graduate of Suffolk County Community College and studied Construction Mgt at Community College of Southern Nevada.  When not at work, she enjoys traveling with her family and spending time at the beach.

Jennifer Butterfras

Project Coordinator- Interiors

Jennifer coordinates most all matters for our Interiors department.  She manages pay applications, close out documents, subcontract and owner agreements, and change orders.  She submits plans to the city, tracks permits, and send out bids requests. With 6 years of experience handling administrative tasks and coordinating projects along with her diligence, attention to detail and dependable work ethic, she is a great asset to the Angler team.  Jennifer is a graduate of Texas State University and spends her time outside of work involved with missionary travel, flipping houses, and spending time with her family. 

Isabel "Bella" Lopez

Project Coordinator- Ground Up

Bella brings a wealth of experience to Angler. With over 20 years experience in commercial construction management and contract administration, she coordinates most all the industrial projects for our Ground Up department.  Also bilingual, one of her greatest strengths is being a strong communicator; it shows in her performance, organization, follow through, and is a major player making projects run seamlessly.  Off the clock, she is a runner and a hiker; she is on her way to hiking every trail in Texas.  

Jasmine Flores

Project Coordinator- Ground Up

With 4 years experience in the construction industry, Jasmine coordinates projects in our Ground Up department.  On her desk you'll find pay applications, close out documents, subcontract and owner agreements, and change orders.  She submits plans to the city, tracks permits, and send out bids requests.  She enjoys having fun with her kids, taking naps and going the movies.
